The University of Aberdeen is one of the largest accommodation providers in the north-east. With a range of self-catered flats and standard rooms there is something to suit all requirements.

Overlooking the River Don, Hillhead campus is located less than two miles from Aberdeen Beach and the city centre, and a ten-minute walk from the main University campus. Seaton Park - one of the city's most beautiful areas - is located adjacent. A regular bus service runs daily from Hillhead campus to the city centre, via the University.

The flats comprise five to seven single bedrooms grouped around a kitchen/dining area. Each flat is self-contained and has its own shower/WC and kitchen facilities (including cooker with hob/grill/oven, microwave, refrigerator, kettle, crockery and cutlery). Every room comes complete with fresh linen and towels.

History to the present day

Founded in 1495 by William Elphinstone, Bishop of Aberdeen and Chancellor of Scotland, the University of Aberdeen is Scotland's third oldest and the UK's fifth oldest university.

Food and Drinks

The accommodation is self catering with a shop on-site where food and drink can be purchased.

During the summer time the on-site Bar and Takeaway outlets are subject to varied opening hours. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance of the accommodation.

Other facilities

The campus offers a TV room, licensed supermarket (open 7 days), launderette, vending machines, licensed bar, three all-weather tennis courts, one badminton court, two table-tennis tables, various video machines, games hall, autobank and postbox.

There are two computer rooms available for guests' use in the Central Building.

The summer accommodation at Hillhead is half a mile north of Kings College on the A90 (King Street) at Don Street.

By Car: Entering the city from the south or west, follow signs to the A90 (Fraserburgh and Peterhead). This leads round the ring road (Anderson Drive). Exiting from a roundabout onto Cairncry Road, third exit, continue along that road until you reach another roundabout. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Hilton St/A978. Keep right at the fork. Continue to follow A978 Hilton Street, leading to Leslie Road. Go through next roundabout - you are on St Machar Drive. Go straight through next roundabout. At the next roundabout, take the 1st exit onto King St/A956. Turn left at Don St. Hillhead Halls Of Residence will be on the left.

By Local Bus: The number 20, from Littlejohn Street next to Marischal College, links the city centre to Old Aberdeen and Hillhead Halls.

From Union Street, the city’s main thoroughfare, the numbers 1, and 2 travelling east, all run along King’s Street and pass the University King's Campus. Alight just after the roundabout at St Machar Drive, with the Spar shop on your left. The Road - Don Street will take you to Hillhead Halls.
